UGC API

A Post for Me alternative built for UGC

Post for Me and UGC API are both posting APIs for developers. Post for Me covers more networks. UGC API covers four and goes deeper on UGC formats and multi-account scheduling. Here is how to decide.

Updated

What each product is

Post for Me describes itself as a unified social media posting API that adds posting, feeds and analytics to your product through one endpoint. Its site lists TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Bluesky, Threads and YouTube, with pricing tiers based on post volume. Check their pricing page for current numbers, since we don't want to quote figures that may have changed.

UGC API is narrower on purpose. It posts to TikTok, Instagram, Facebook Pages and YouTube, the four places UGC lives. Everything else in the product is about UGC: slideshows, Story frames, drafts, AI labels and spreading many posts across many creator accounts.

Where UGC API is different

Spread scheduling is the main difference

Many posting APIs model a post as content plus a list of accounts plus a time. That works when you post one thing to one brand's profiles. UGC work is different: 200 hooks need to go out over 20 creator accounts, one or two per account per day, never all at the same minute.

With a general API you write that scheduler yourself: pick the next account, track who posted when, offset times, handle a disconnected account mid-run. With UGC API you send one campaign request. Our guide to scheduling UGC across many accounts shows the math.

Where Post for Me may fit better

  • You need X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Bluesky or Threads. UGC API doesn't post there.
  • You want feeds or analytics from the same vendor. UGC API returns published URLs, not analytics.
  • You prefer a plan billed monthly over prepaid credits.

Migrating

  1. Create an API key in the dashboard.
  2. Reconnect accounts with UGC API connect links. Tokens from other providers can't be transferred, since each provider has its own platform apps.
  3. Map your post payloads to POST /v1/posts. The create a post doc lists every field.
  4. Point webhooks to your handler and verify X-UGCAPI-Signature.

A worked example: 120 hooks over 8 accounts

Say a client buys 120 short videos and wants them on 8 creator TikTok accounts, 1 post per account per day. That is 15 days of content. With UGC API you upload the 120 files, then send one campaign with the 8 account IDs, the 120 posts and a cadence of 1 per account per day. We assign post 1 to account 1, post 2 to account 2 and so on, then start the next day. Each account posts at a slightly different minute.

If account 5 disconnects on day 6, its remaining posts wait and you get an account.disconnected webhook. The other 7 accounts keep posting. When the creator reconnects, account 5 continues. The cost is 120 credits, or $1.20 at the $10 pack price.

Questions to ask before you switch any posting API

  • Which formats does it support per platform: TikTok photo posts, Instagram Stories, Facebook Reels?
  • How does it count a post: per request, per account, or per placement?
  • What happens to scheduled posts when an account token expires?
  • Can you map accounts to your own user IDs?
  • What do the webhook payloads include, and are they signed?

How to choose

  • Pick Post for Me if you need platforms beyond TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, or features we don't offer.
  • Pick UGC API if your content is short video and slideshows, you post across many accounts, and you want to pay per post with no plan.
  • Test both with real content. Our 50 free posts are enough to run a small campaign across a few accounts.

See pricing for packs, or the UGC agencies page for the multi-account workflow.
