How to schedule UGC across many accounts

Posting 300 videos across 30 creator accounts is a scheduling problem before it is an API problem. This guide covers the math, the assignment rules that keep accounts healthy, and how to do it in one API call.

Updated

Start with the math

Three numbers define a schedule: posts (N), accounts (M) and cadence per account per day (C). The campaign takes N / (M x C) days.

PostsAccountsPer account per dayDays
1005120
30030110
3003025
1,000403about 9

Pick C first, based on what is healthy for the platform and account age. Then adjust M or the content volume. Our posting cadence guide suggests starting points.

Assign round-robin, not in blocks

If you hand account 1 posts 1 to 10 and account 2 posts 11 to 20, similar content clusters on the same account. Round-robin assignment spreads it: post 1 to account 1, post 2 to account 2, and so on, wrapping around. If your posts are ordered by concept or product, each account gets a mix.

Stagger the minutes

Thirty accounts posting at exactly 17:00 looks like a bot network, and it creates a spike against platform rate limits. Offset each account by a few minutes and vary the time day to day. Within a posting window like 15:00 to 21:00, a 30-account roster at 1 per day can be spaced about 12 minutes apart.

Respect hard caps

  • TikTok: TikTok caps Direct Post volume per creator account per day. Its docs describe the cap as typically around 15, shared across all apps the creator uses, so your share may be lower.
  • Instagram: Meta caps API-published posts per account in a rolling 24 hours. Carousels count as one, Story frames count individually.
  • Facebook Pages: Meta's Reels docs state a limit of 30 API-published Reels per rolling 24 hours.
  • YouTube: uploads are limited by the API project's daily quota.

UGC cadences sit far below these caps, which is the point. See limits for details.

Plan for things breaking mid-run

Over a 20-day schedule, something will go wrong. A creator changes their password and the token dies. An account goes private. A video gets rejected. A good schedule is resumable: the remaining posts for a broken account wait, the rest continue, and nothing posts twice when you fix it.

Do it with one API call

UGC API's POST /v1/campaigns takes the posts, the accounts and a per-account cadence. It does round-robin assignment, staggered times and resume for you.

bash
curl https://ugcapi.dev/v1/campaigns \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer ugc_live_..." \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "name": "Client 42 - November",
    "accounts": ["acc_tt_01", "acc_tt_02", "acc_tt_03", "acc_tt_04", "acc_tt_05"],
    "per_account_per_day": 1,
    "start_at": "2026-11-01T15:00:00Z",
    "window_hours": 6,
    "posts": [
      { "format": "video", "media": ["https://cdn.example.com/h/001.mp4"], "caption": "Hook 1 #ugc" },
      { "format": "slideshow", "media": ["https://cdn.example.com/s/002-1.jpg", "https://cdn.example.com/s/002-2.jpg"], "caption": "Hook 2" }
    ]
  }'

Each post in the campaign becomes a normal post with its own ID, results and webhooks. See the campaigns doc for every field.

Mixing platforms

You can put TikTok and Instagram accounts in the same campaign, but platforms reward different cadences. Many teams run one campaign per platform so each has its own pace. If a creator has both, one campaign per platform also stops the same video landing on their TikTok and Instagram at the same minute.

Checklist

  1. Choose cadence per platform.
  2. Order posts so similar content is spread out.
  3. Set a posting window in the hours your audience is active.
  4. Subscribe to post.failed and account.disconnected webhooks.
  5. Check results daily for the first few days.

Agencies running this daily should also read UGC agencies.

FAQ

How many posts per day per account is safe?

There is no published safe number. Most UGC teams start at 1 to 3 per day per account and adjust by account age and results.

What happens if an account disconnects during a campaign?

Its remaining posts wait, you get an account.disconnected webhook, and the other accounts keep posting. Posts resume after the creator reconnects.

Can one campaign include TikTok and Instagram accounts?

Yes, but separate campaigns per platform give you separate cadences, which usually works better.

Can I cancel part of a campaign?

Yes. Each scheduled post has its own ID. Cancel any of them with DELETE /v1/posts/:id.
