Why Claude and UGC API fit
Claude is good at the planning half of UGC work: writing 30 caption variants, matching hooks to accounts, spacing posts so no creator gets two in an hour. What it can't do on its own is press publish on TikTok. The UGC API connector gives it that last step, with the same credits, limits and safety rules as our REST API.
Connect in claude.ai or Claude Desktop
- Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
- Paste
https://ugcapi.dev/mcpand save. - Click Connect, sign in with your UGC API email code (new accounts get 50 free posts) and press Allow on our consent screen.
- In a chat, open the tools menu and make sure UGC API is on. Ask: “Which accounts do I have connected?”
Connect in Claude Code
Install the plugin, which adds the connector plus a skill with the posting rules Claude follows:

What Claude will and won't do on its own
- It confirms accounts, caption and time before anything goes out. Claude also asks before calling tools that change things, unless you allowed them.
- For TikTok it shows the creator nickname and asks you to pick the privacy level. TikTok requires that choice from a person.
- It previews every campaign before scheduling it, so you see the calendar and the credit cost first.
- It can't attach a file you dropped into the chat. Give it a public https link, or upload in the dashboard composer.
A real workflow: one brief to a week of posts
- Ask Claude to write 14 hook captions for your product and match each to one of your rendered videos (paste the list of URLs).
- Ask it to plan them over 2 TikTok accounts and 1 Instagram, one a day each, and show the plan.
- Approve. Claude schedules the campaign and gives you the id.
- Midweek, ask “how are they doing?”. It pulls views and likes and suggests which hooks to recut.
FAQ
Do I need Claude Pro?
Custom connectors are available on Claude's paid plans and in Claude Code. The UGC API side is the same on any plan: 50 free posts, then $10 per 1,000.
Can Claude post without asking me?
Its instructions tell it to confirm before publishing and to let you choose TikTok privacy. Claude also asks before running tools that make changes unless you've allowed them for that chat.
Which platforms can Claude post to?
Whatever you've connected to UGC API: TikTok (video, photo post, draft), Instagram (Reel, carousel, image, Story), Facebook Pages and YouTube Shorts.
Can my teammates use it too?
Yes. Each person connects Claude with their own sign-in, and Claude gets the workspace that was open when they approved it.
