UGC posting cadence: how often to post per account

Cadence is the number of posts per account per day. Too low and you waste content and time. Too high and you hit caps, burn out an audience or look automated. This guide separates the hard limits from the judgment calls.

Hard limits first

These are rules, not advice. Your cadence has to stay under them, and well under is better because other tools the creator uses share some of them.

Starting cadences that teams use

There's no official safe number for reach, and no platform publishes one. These are common starting points among UGC teams. Treat them as a first test, not a rule.

  • TikTok, established creator account: 1 to 3 posts per day.
  • TikTok, new account: start at 1 per day for the first weeks and watch views per post.
  • Instagram Reels: 1 per day per account is plenty for most; add Stories rather than more Reels.
  • Instagram Stories: a few frames a day keeps the account visible without spamming followers.
  • Facebook Page Reels: 1 per day, often the same clip as the Instagram Reel.
  • YouTube Shorts: 1 per day per channel, same clip as TikTok with a search-friendly title.

Timing within the day

  1. Pick a window when the account's audience is active. Check native analytics for each account.
  2. Spread posts across that window instead of stacking them.
  3. Stagger accounts by a few minutes so a roster doesn't post at the same moment.
  4. Leave a few hours between two posts on the same account.

Why more isn't always better

Each new post competes with the last one for the same audience. If you post 5 times a day, your followers see a fraction of them, and the algorithm tests each post on a smaller first audience. Many UGC teams get more total views by spreading the same content over more accounts at a lower cadence. That is the logic behind scheduling across many accounts.

How to test your cadence

  1. Pick a group of similar accounts.
  2. Run half at 1 per day and half at 2 per day for two weeks.
  3. Compare views per post and total views per account, not just totals.
  4. Keep the cadence that gives more total views without dropping views per post sharply.

Content quality varies more than cadence, so use similar content in both groups. Rotate the same set of hooks across both.

Setting cadence in UGC API

In a campaign, per_account_per_day sets the cadence and window_hours sets how wide the daily posting window is. We assign posts round-robin and stagger the minutes for you.

Because credits are per post and accounts are free, testing a higher cadence costs only the extra posts. See pricing and the per-platform caps in limits.

Cadence and content supply

Cadence is also a content budget. 10 accounts at 2 posts a day need 600 posts a month. Most teams can't make that many distinct hooks, so they reuse each concept across several accounts with small changes in the hook line, the first frame or the creator. Plan the content supply first, then set cadence to match it, not the other way around. A campaign that runs out of content after 9 days of a 30-day month is worse than a steady 1 per day.

FAQ

How many TikToks per day is too many?

TikTok's hard API cap is typically around 15 Direct Posts per creator per day. For reach, most UGC teams stay at 1 to 3.

Do Instagram Stories count toward the API limit?

Yes. Each Story frame is a separate published item and counts toward Meta's per-account 24-hour limit.

Should I post the same video on every platform the same day?

You can. Many teams post to TikTok first and to Reels and Shorts a few hours later to spread effort and compare.

Does cadence affect what I pay?

Only by post count. UGC API charges per post, with no per-account fees.
