UGC API

A Blotato alternative for posting UGC at scale

Blotato makes content and posts it. UGC API only posts, to many accounts, from any generator you already use. If you mainly need distribution, you may be paying for creation features you don't use.

What each product is

Blotato is a content tool for creators and agencies. Its plans bundle AI image and video generation credits, a scheduler, and DM and comment auto-replies. It has an API, an MCP server and n8n and Make nodes, and a large set of community n8n templates built around it.

UGC API is a distribution layer. You bring finished videos and slideshows from any source: your own app, an AI UGC tool, editors or an n8n flow. UGC API posts them to TikTok, Instagram, Facebook Pages and YouTube Shorts across many accounts, in each platform's native format, and reports views, likes, comments and shares back.

Prices and limits for other products are from their public sites at the time of writing (October 2026). Plans change often, so check their current pricing page before you decide.

Where UGC API is different

Blotato is one tool for making and posting. UGC API is one piece of a stack. That matters when your content comes from somewhere else, or when the number of accounts grows faster than the number of creatives.

  • Cost tracks posts, not seats or accounts. Connect 300 accounts and pay nothing until they post.
  • Many accounts is the default. A campaign spreads hundreds of posts over dozens of accounts with a cadence, local times and staggered minutes.
  • Creator onboarding. Connect links let creators approve access to their own accounts without sharing passwords. You map each account to your user with external_id.
  • Built for developers and for operators. Your app can use the REST API while your team uses the dashboard. Teams and workspaces have roles.
  • Per-account results. Each placement reports its own status. Failed posts can be retried and are refunded if they don't go out.

Where Blotato may fit better

  • You want one tool to generate images and video and post them, and you don't already have a generator.
  • You want DM and comment auto-replies. UGC API doesn't do engagement automation.
  • You build in n8n and want to start from a ready-made template library.
  • You run up to 20 or 40 accounts and the bundled creation credits are worth it to you.

Using both

Some teams make content in one tool and post with another. If you generate in Blotato or any other AI tool, you can send the finished file URLs to UGC API from n8n. Our n8n and Make guide shows the nodes. This keeps creation and distribution separate, so you can change one without the other.

Migrating posting to UGC API

  1. Sign up and claim 50 free posts. Create an API key in the dashboard, or skip the key if your team works in the dashboard only.
  2. Reconnect accounts with UGC API connect links. Tokens from Blotato can't be transferred, because each provider uses its own TikTok, Meta and Google apps. Send each creator a link, set an external_id so the account maps to your own user ID, and the creator approves access without sharing a password.
  3. Map your existing jobs to POST /v1/posts for single posts or POST /v1/campaigns for many posts over many accounts. Run the campaign with "dry_run": true first to check the schedule and the credit count.
  4. Point post.published and post.failed webhooks to your handler and verify the signature.
  5. Run both tools side by side for a week. Pause the accounts in Blotato as each one goes live in UGC API, so nothing posts twice.

A worked example: an AI UGC app posting for users

An AI UGC app generates 3,000 videos a month for its users, who have 100 TikTok and Instagram accounts between them. The app already makes the content, so creation credits would go unused. With UGC API, each user connects their account through a connect link from inside the app, and the app calls POST /v1/posts with the user's external_id.

The cost is 3,000 credits, or $30. The app gets post.published and post.failed webhooks to show status to users, and pulls views and likes from GET /v1/stats for its own dashboard. See AI UGC tools for this pattern.

How to choose

  • Pick Blotato if you want creation, posting and auto-replies in one plan.
  • Pick UGC API if you already have content, run many accounts, or are building a product that posts for users.
  • Use both if you like Blotato for creation but need cheaper posting across more accounts.
