UGC API

Post UGC from Gemini

Gemini CLI speaks MCP, so it can schedule UGC through your UGC API account. Building on the Gemini API instead? Declare our endpoints as functions and Gemini will call them.

Updated

Gemini CLI

Add the server to ~/.gemini/settings.json:

json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "ugcapi": { "httpUrl": "https://ugcapi.dev/mcp" }
  }
}

Start gemini, run /mcp auth ugcapi, sign in with your UGC API email code and approve. /mcp then lists the tools.

Things to try

  • “Read captions.csv and schedule each row's video to my TikTok at the time in the row. Show me the first five before you start.”
  • “Make a connect link for a creator's YouTube channel.”
  • “Which of last week's posts got the most views on Instagram?”

Gemini API function calling

The Gemini app doesn't let you add your own MCP servers, so for products built on the Gemini API, expose UGC API as functions and run the HTTP call yourself with your API key. Keep the tool list short: list_accounts, publish_post and get_post cover most agents. The schemas on the agent frameworks page work as Gemini function declarations.

Writing captions with Gemini and posting with UGC API is a common pairing: Gemini drafts the copy per platform, UGC API handles each network's format and limits.

FAQ

Does the Gemini app support UGC API?

Not directly. Use Gemini CLI for MCP, or the Gemini API with function calling and your UGC API key.

Is posting from Gemini more expensive?

No. Every client uses the same credits: $10 per 1,000 posts.
